If you are looking to build your arm muscles, then you need to consider which exercises are the best for that. Basically, people are interested in having large arms mainly because of looks, rather than function. However, it is undeniable that people find large arms more attractive than thin or flabby ones. So, what sort of exercises can you do to make your arms look larger?
Well, for your biceps you do the most common exercise ever. You do dumbbell curls. If you want to make your arms look larger they need to do heavyweights in low reps. This means lifting a weight that you barely can for as many times you can which is usually 3 to 5 times.
If you’re lifting a weight that is easy to lift 10 to 12 times in a row that means the weight is not heavy enough and you’re going to build lean muscle rather than bulk muscle.
Now, for your triceps, you can do several things. You can grab that same dumbbell that you are using for your biceps and hold it vertically between both hands. Then hold it over your head slightly behind your head and lift it down slowly past the bottom of your head then move it back at and that is one rep. Remember, you want to be doing this with a heavyweight that you can barely do so your arms will get bulky.
Then, you need to think about your shoulders and your forearms. For shoulders, you run to want to do butterfly lifts, which include holding the weights down by your sides and moving them up and outward while keeping your arms straight. For forearms you want to do a curl in the reverse position.
What I mean by this is instead of holding your arm as you would if you were doing a curl rotated so your hand is pointing downward but still holding the weight. Then do a curl and your forearm will be primarily doing the lifting. Do these exercises and you’ll have very nice-looking arms.
